The de Blasio administration announced on December 12 that New York City has now raised $15 million in support of the City’s bid to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The Mayor’s Office noted that it had secured $5 million from DNC 2016 Host Committee Members.
Rob Speyer, a member of the Host Committee, said he is “proud to support” the City’s effort to host the convention.
“As a long-time member of New York’s business community, I am proud to support the city’s bid to host the 2016 convention. As a lifelong New Yorker, I am even more excited by the prospect of showcasing all that our five boroughs have to offer,” Speyer said.
