Urbanland Recaps Rob Speyer’s ULI Address

On October 30, the Urban Land Institute’s magazine, Urbanland, highlighted Rob Speyer’s speech at ULI’s 2014 fall meeting in New York City. Citing the estimate of 2.5 billion people moving to cities between now and 2050, Rob Speyer, president and co–chief executive officer of Tishman Speyer, said that cities are more important than ever in bringing people together in a keynote address at the 2014 ULI Fall Meeting.

“Most of you came from some distance away,” said Speyer. “So why did you come here? Community—real community, not a virtual community. Real networking with real people [who] have real faces, not a social network. It’s the same reason why people have been coming to cities since ancient Damascus.”
