On July 11, 2012, Rob Speyer participated in a Webinar hosted by The Economist. He joined local government and Olympics officials in Rio de Janiero, and via the Web in London and Beijing, to discuss the economic impact of the Olympic Games on host cities. Rob praised Rio’s Mayor Eduardo Paes for his vision and leadership in preparing for that city’s 2016 event, and noted that the infrastructure improvements already underway will have tremendous lasting value.
